Hello!

My main char is almost three years old so I have been playing guild wars for a while. I have completed all three campaigns and EoTN so I have some experiance with general play. People in guild often say that there off to go "Power fam". What exactly does this mean? I often farm bosses for there greens and solo farm smites often. I dont think this as "Power Farming".

What exactly is it?

Ive been playing since they got rid of the attribute refund points in pve

I always thought it was farming the same monster as fast as possible for long periods of time.

Also not sure as to what exactly that would refer to. I only know power leveling.

Wouldn't power-farming mean just farming but do it every time you play for a selected period of time? Kinda like power-leveling except you farm for items and money etc. That would be my guess.

As far as I am concerned I would think "Power farming" is nothing but farming but with a name to make it sound better.

I'm pretty sure whoever you heard use that just meant farming excessively. It's not a common term.

Power anything usually refers to doing that thing with power, ie: faster, harder, better.

Such as power leveling = leveling to max as fast as possible.

imo powerfarming is farming the crap out of a spot that only a few or no person knows about, generally for rare skins, and selling them at outrageous price until spot is discovered/made public/nerfed
(farming could also include chest running)

some examples would be the recent voltaic spear farm, colossal scimitar in zehlon reach, magma shield in domain of fear, zodiac stuff in urgoz, sephis axe in gate of kryta

that's what I think, but I could be wrong

Power farming is an oxymoron. It's a legend...a once upon a time kinda thing. Countless nerfs and loot scaling has made the once lucrative power farming into something of a myth. For balance they say. To fix bugs they say. To make things a lil more challenging they say. Here we are now and I'm feeling the collateral damage. Boohoo I say. Raptor farming is a joke outside of special weekends btw.
